Ten Vintage Outfits For Autumn 2020

With the darker nights upon us and a dazzling display of terracotta leaves appearing on the trees, we’re welcoming in Autumn with ten vintage outfit
ideas, taking inspiration from the rich, warm, hues of the season. Swing into fall with pretty prints; be bold and bright or classic and tailored, but most importantly, layer to the max to avoid those chilly spells.

Be bright!

This gorgeous little combo screams Autumn with a fabulous check in bright
orange, red and yellow. Picking out the red tones from the Alexa Autumn
Leaves skirt
, team it with the Jorgie polo top with its sweet buttoned peter pan collar, the Tisha belt to accentuate the waist and a Maddy petticoat to add extra swish with every step you take. The Kiria necklace and Evie Ascot scarf add interest with little accent pops of mustard to match the check. Finish off this outfit with the Korrina trench coat, which can easily fit a petticoat underneath its full swing skirt, and the ruched faux leather gloves to keep your hands toasty on a crisp morning.

Two Tone-tastic!

Wearing tonal shades of the same colour always works really well, especially when it’s an autumnal shade like a deep forest green. The Mara Garden Stripes swing design features two green accent colours, long sleeves perfect for cold days and pockets for those of us that like to plunge our hands into our dresses. Wear the Cara green cardigan over the dress to keep you warm and cosy with it’s soft and fuzzy feel, as well as the stunning Annasofia coat which features a gorgeous green velvet tie at the back. The Doris croc bag makes for a great daytime stowaway for your phone and purse, and has a fabulous faux croc texture. Complete this outfit with the Gertrude high heels and Lauren beret for a practical but cute look as you sashay around the shops.

Banish rainy days!

Autumn wouldn’t be autumn without some rain, but we have the perfect
antidote to that. Add some sparkle to chase those grey days away with the
Bright and Beautiful Mabel jumper adorned with multicolored sequins. For a casual but cool look, the high waisted Bonnie scholar check trousers are super fun but comfortable, highlighting the colours echoed in the sequins. Combine with the Mara velvet trimmed heels in plum to dazzle but feel practical in these almond toe beauties with a low block heel. Add the Ally head band in green to keep wind blown hair at bay, and the Rodeo Star earrings for extra sparkle.

Be bold in Blackwatch!

The change in season always signals it’s time for a stylish tartan to be added to your wardrobe and the Quinn top combined with the matching tasseled scarf is effortlessly elegant in navy, black and green. The fitted peplum top has a gorgeous sweetheart neckline and cute bow detail to the front with chic turn up cuffs on the sleeves in plain black. Wear with the Louise Cigarette trousers – a great staple to combine with so many things in your wardrobe. The Kadence black trench coat continues the sleek silhouette while keeping you warm and dry in this fabulous new style. The Melanie wide brim hat and Melina black hoop earrings continue to tie all the black together with this outfit, which is a super versatile look and works well for the office as well as day or evening dates with friends.

When you think of Autumn, falling leaves in an array of russet colours spring to mind and the beautiful Amber-Lea dress captures that feeling perfectly. Against a deep green background, the border print of orange leaves tumble over the full gathered skirt. Using the orange as an accent, the Autumnal Acorn Brooch, Lucille Hair flower and Carrie bag are ideal vintage accessories for this outfit. The Deanna belt and Mona heels add the prettiest bow details and the faux fur collar and quilted back of the Melania scarf will ensure you’re as snug as a bug while any cold breezes whip up the leaves around you on a brisk woodland walk.

Checking in!

If you’re heading out for a stay-cation with your love, this little combo is the perfect way to travel in style. A faithful Dolores top in plain black with the Thea Berry check trousers make a great outfit to feel comfortable, but look amazing while you’re doing heading out for adventures! The Charlene
cherries cardigan
will keep you warm with its pretty keyhole bow feature at the front and the Tartan Heart studs add a sassy vibe for romantic getaways. For super stylish travelling, combine with the Lissy hat in red and the matching Tammy Berry bag to complete the look, and to carry all of your vintage essentials.

Berry Autumnal!

The Dolores dress is a fundamental staple in any vintage loving wardrobe
and this new floral design with dainty white flowers is great for layering up to feel pretty but keep the chill off. Add the white Maddy petticoat for a little extra floofiness for a fun daytime look and the Jean bolero to stay toasty. The black earrings and necklace set is a great way to accessorise 50s dresses along with the Zuzana bag which has the sweetest bamboo handle while keeping all of your day to day essentials safe. Wrap up warm in the Heather coat which has deep pockets, a cloak style hood and is finished in a comforting quilted velvet for a little added luxury on your daily routine.

Be-leaf in nature!

If the typical shades of autumn aren’t your thing, try the Fallen Leaves
Caterina dress
. With it’s navy base and delicate leaf print, which gives a nod to the season but keeps it cool in pale blue. This 1950’s shirtwaister design comes in pencil or swing versions and has the sweetest brown buttons. A neutral palette further completes this look with the Carrie bag and Cornelia shoe, which are practical and pretty with their crossover straps and low heels. Throw over the Lily knitted cardigan to keep warm in this amazing new vintage style. The Liana knitted headband and dainty pearl necklace in icy blue finishes this relaxed but refined outfit.

Lea Riding jacket and Sloan Herringbone skirt, these classic tailored styles will have you Zoom ready in no time! The asymmetric curved hem on the jacket is truly reminiscent of late 40’s fashion and such an investment piece as it would look just as good with a Chrissie jumper underneath and high waisted jeans for a more relaxed look too. Add the Aria flower studs with delicate pearl centres and the Lynn thin belt to compliment the red from the check over the herringbone pattern. If you’re heading out, take the matching Susan Herringbone bag with you and add the red Prudence high heels.

Feeling fancy?

For those nights when you want to feel extra special, the Trixie Midnight Lily dress has a great autumnal colour palette with its oranges, reds and greens against the black. It’s the perfect day to night dress, combining an easy to wear cotton sateen fabric and 1940’s inspired fold over bust, making for a killer sweetheart neckline. Pick out the deep red and orange from the lilies with the Nora hair flower, adding soft burgundy velvet to tie in the look with the Gloria Roses heels and Katie belt to cinch in that waist. If you’re feeling super glamorous, the Ellie satin elbow gloves and a fabulously warm and magnificent Pearl coat will have you instantly stepping out like an Old Hollywood starlet!
